ÄÄRILLÄ – Exhibition at Lokal Helsinki 2.–22.6.2017

The ÄÄRILLÄ exhibition is a result of a year-long process of Mari Isopahkala and Sami Ruotsalainen designing together and as individuals. This design process has resulted in unique ceramic and glass pieces, which will be showcased in Lokal together with Reeta Ek’s art prints.

KOTI - Stay in a Finnish cottage in the heart of Paris, from January till May 2017.

"To celebrate the centenary of the Finnish independence KOTI will bring the magic of Finland to the Rive Gauche. For 100 days the Institut Finlandais will host sleepovers in a living installation. Conceived and created by designer Linda Bergroth, KOTI hosts up to 12 guests a night in six timber cabins (single, double, family). Every element of the installation has been chosen to show the best in Finnish hospitality, to create a complete immersion in the spirit of Finland.

Design lovers, adventurers or those who simply want peace and quiet from the hectic city can reserve their own cabin on AirBnB. The guests will enjoy a different kind of encounter that celebrates a sense of togetherness, the beauty of unique interiors, and a peaceful simplicity, whether staying overnight or visiting for the day."...

All the textiles in KOTI are from Lapuan Kankurit, including my ESKIMO throw. The beautiful Piippu Pot is from Studio Kaksikko (Wesley Walters and - my sister - Salla Luhtasela).

NONI

8 designers exhibiting in Milano, Ventura Lambrate during 12.-17.4.2016. Come to meet us in Via Privata Oslavia 7.

Finland is a country of stark contrasts that have a profound effect on the people living in it, surrounded as we are by a natural world that vacillates between harshness and sublime beauty. Contrasts such as light and dark, heat and cold, lack and abundance all affect our perception of the world and the things we create. Wherever we originally come from, living in such an environment has a profound effect on our perception and contributes to what could be considered a Finnish design aesthetic. Noni explores these themes from the personal perspectives of a group of young designers living in Finland.
